In the event of deployment, the driver and/or passenger airbags may not function as intended. There is consequently an increased risk of injury in the event of an accident.

In the fuel filter, the resin moulding surrounding the O-ring of the water level sensor is unsuitable, causing insufficient compression of the ring. This means that when the engine is started at low outside temperatures, the fuel might leak into the sensor and then out through the ventilation hole. This could lead to a fire.

  • Risk level: 2

  • Rapex alert: A12/1918/14

  • Date of the problem: 05/12/2014

Due to insufficient air flow efficiency in the intake system, oil may accumulate in the intercooler. Under certain driving conditions, the oil may flow into the combustion chamber and might cause engine damage, which may increase the risk of a fire in the engine compartment due to leaked oil.

EU rapid alert system

  • Risk level: 3

  • Rapex alert: A12/0149/16

  • Date of the problem: 12/02/2016

Under certain conditions condensation in the intake air corrodes the needle bearing housing, thus, the sealing between intake air and the electrical actuator circuit of the throttle body might not be water-tight any more. If water enters in the throttle body actuator circuit, the water might cause a throttle body position misreading or short circuit inside the throttle body electrical actuation mechanism. This might trigger the engine to stall while driving.
